Course Overview - 2 DAY COURSE

We are pleased to announce a KT3 (Sports Injuries) course.

This course will focus on sports rehabilitation and will provide an invaluable platform for physiotherapists, sport therapists, osteopaths, chiropractors and occupational therapists experiences to learn about the latest techniques.

The course will include: Medial and lateral epichondylitis, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Rib Fractures, Myofascial low back pain, skiers thumb, osteoarthritis of the hip, hamstring strain, adductor strain, shin splints, anterior compartment syndrome, ACL issues, osteoarthritis of the knee, knee meniscus issues, knee hyperextension, pes anserinus bursitis, ankle sprains, wrist sprain, fractured ribs. As well core curriculum including shoulder impingement, whiplash/cervical pain, chondromalacia patella. There will also be a study session to discuss problem cases.

YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED AN APPROVED KT1,KT2 COURSE AT LEAST FOUR WEEKS PRIOR TO ATTENDING THIS KT3 COURSE.

Course Overview

A two-day laboratory workshop with practical applications using Kinesio Tex, a hypoallergenic adhesive tape. Kinesio Taping works on the fascia, lymphatic and musculoskeletal systems.

Theory and taping techniques will be presented for advanced sports medicine and clinical conditions not covered in KT2. There will also be a discussion session for practitioners to talk about their taping experiences and the protocols that they have developed.

Participants completing KT3 will be eligible to take the KTA online test to become a Certified Practitioner.

Biography

Gudrun Collins - Certified Advanced Kinesio Tape Instructor


Gudrun was born and educated in Germany but she now lives and is based in England, in the county of Suffolk. Gudrun is the Director of the GeeCol Sports Injury and Lymphoedema Clinic, which is a Care Quality Commission (CQC) approved healthcare provider (the first in this field in UK) and registered as part of GeeCol Wellness, which she owns herself as a UK Limited Company.

Within the GeeCol Clinic, Gudrun treats (as sports injury) a wide variety of athletes including the local running team, rugby club, competitive cyclists and footballers, in addition to non athletic clients including those with various sorts of lymphatic disorders. She also specialises in highly complex lymphatic conditions.

Gudrun has many years of practical experience: in the field of Sports Injury Therapy, as a Lymphoedema Specialist (trained in the Vodder and Foldi Methods), as an Equine Lymphatic Specialist (Vodder Method) and as a Lecturer in all these disciplines. Living close to Newmarket, Gudrun has been developing her equine work including the use of kinesio tape with several horse breeders. She has received several nominations for her professional case studies at international level and was recently honoured (in Nov 2011) by the British Lymphology Society (BLS) with the Award for Reputation & Professional Standing.

During her working career to date, Gudrun has completed many other training courses. These include: Hip, Ankle, Knee and Shoulder Joint injuries, Muscle Energy Techniques, Neuro Muscular Techniques, Core Stability and Fit Ball, Injury Prevention Therapy, Ultrasound, Leg Ulcer Management and a degree in Tissue Viabilty & Wound Care (University Campus Suffolk).

In her spare time Gudrun enjoys riding her motor bike, hiking with her dog, travelling extensively and playing the piano.
